| Situated on the Shire River, Liwonde National Park has been described as Malawi’s finest game reserve. It is a lush area of unspoilt riverine vegetation stretching over 548km2. It is the country’s finest wildlife reserve with a variety of game and over 300 bird species. Large numbers of hippo, crocodiles, elephants, antelope and zebras can be seen especially on the banks of the Shire, while leopard, lion and serval are more difficult to spot. |
