Named after former U.S. senator Warren G. Magnuson, this 196-acre park was created in 1977 after the government scaled back the sprawling Sand Point Naval Air Station, in Seattle, Washington. On the western side of the park leading to Lake Washington's shore, dog walkers and bird watchers tread stark fields that were once airstrips, while cyclists cruise paved paths. The park also has four ball fields, six tennis courts, a boat ramp and designated swimming areas.
