The Maritime museum of Trondheim was established in 1920. Since 1971 the museum has been situated in this building, the "old slavery". The collection includes ship models, galleon figureheads, maritime instruments and pictures of sailboats from the area. The museum has a comprehensive archive with information on ships and captains.
