Mills Ruins Park is one of the newest parks in the Twin Cities area, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mill Ruins Park is situated in the Mississippi Mile, which covers both sides of the river and encompasses landmarks such as Boom Island, Nicollet Island, Historic Main, and Hennepin Bluff with many recreation opportunities. Mill Ruins Park opened in 2001, to celebrate the history of 19th-century ruins that were once mills and powered by St. Anthony Falls on the Mississippi River.
