Founded in 1929 as an educational institution, The Museum of Modern Art, in New York City, is dedicated to being the foremost museum of modern art in the world. The Museum of Modern Art is home to the world's largest and most inclusive collection of modern painting and sculpture, comprising some 3,200 works dating from the late nineteenth century to the present. New galleries on the fourth and fifth floors of the Museum allow visitors to consider the Painting and Sculpture collection in new ways.
