Established in 1955, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with the purpose of honoring the American cowboys, what was then called the Cowboy Hall of Fame has become today's National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. The 200,000 square foot facility features Western and Native American artifacts, sculptures, art and historical galleries. It is one of Oklahoma City's more popular attractions and one of the most respected museums of its kind in the United States.
