| Dir`aiyah was the kingdom`s first capital and the ruins, a short drive from Riyadh city center, are now Saudi Arabia`s most popular archaeological site. Founded in 1446, the city reached the height of its powers at the end of the 18th century, before being razed in 1818. The reconstructed ruins include palaces, mosques and the old city wall. |
