Muttrah Souq (market) is the main traditional souq and is a great place to stroll and window shop for 23 carat gold jewellery or select a souvenir of your holiday in Muscat in one of the shops selling old Omani silver and Khanjars (Omani daggers). In the evening many residents of Muscat take their daily walk along the picturesque corniche near the souq.
