Set in the rolling hills of Sturbridge, Massachusetts, Old Sturbridge Village presents a vivid and unforgettable portrait of life in a country village in early 19th-century New England. The landscape is re-created with original homes, craft shops, meetinghouses, and mills brought to the museum site from throughout New England. Authentically costumed “Villagers,” called history interpreters, demonstrate and discuss with today’s visitors the life, work, and celebrations of early 19thcentury Americans.
