| Oradour-sur-Glane was the site of a particularly brutal atrocity during World War II. The village and its inhabitants were destroyed by German troops.A terrible massacre took place in the town of Oradour-sur-Glane, in the Haute-Vienne region of France on Saturday 10th of June 1944. The town had been far from any centre of conflict, was not, nor had ever been an active resistance stronghold. |
