The Portland Art Museum in Portland, Oregon, is the oldest art museum in the Northwest, and in October 2005 a new wing was built that gave the museum lots more space for displaying its collection of modern and contemporary art. This collection begins with European Impressionist and moves right up to the present. Although the museum has respectable collections of European, Asian, and American art, the best reason to visit is to see the extensive collection of Native American art and artifacts.
