Cologne`s Roman-German Museum is home to an astounding collection of historic relics and cultural artifacts dating back to Roman times and the early Middle Ages, and is one of the most famous in Germany.
The Roman Empire gave rise to a wide range of architecture, inscriptions, portraits, ceramics and mosaics that now take pride of place in the museum. Highlights include an intricate Roman mosaic depicting scenes from the world of Dionysos and the reconstructed tomb of the legionary Poblicius.
