Rosamond Gifford Zoo, in Syracuse, New York, is home to more than 900 animals of all different species. Biodiversity is one of the primary goals at Rosamond Gifford, so all animals live with plant life that is found in their natural habitat. In addition to lions, and tigers and bears, this zoo is a leading breeder of Asian elephants. The bird habitat is home to the zoo's oldest animal, Conrad, a 55-year-old condor. Aquatic birds live on the waterfowl pond. A half-mile nature trail winds among the habitat of more than 63 other animals.
