Roubaix Museum of Art and Industry was founded in order to house the collections of Roubaix National Museum which risked considerable loss and damage as a result of dispersal following closure of the museum in 1940. Today the museum is established on the site of the old public swimming pool - an exceptional building art-deco - built between 1927 and 1932.
