San Damiano is a church with a monastery near Assisi, Italy. It was the first monastery of the Order of Saint Clare, where Saint Clare built her community. As the place where St. Francis first received his miraculous calling and where St. Clare died, it is an important stop on the pilgrimage to the holy city.
