Tara National Park is located in the panhandle of Serbia surrounded by Bosnia on two sides (with the Drina river on the border), covering an area of about 22,000 hectares ad a height of up to 1,500 m above sea level. It encompasses a large part of the Tara mountain located in western Serbia and standing at 1,000-1,500 meters above sea level.
