The Deep - the World's only Submarium - is Hull's £45.5 million Millennium Commission lottery project. Since opening in March 2002, The Deep has welcomed over 2 million visitors and won many awards including The Good Britain Guide 2003, best newcomer, and The Good Britain Guide Best UK Aquarium 2002. The Deep is housed in a dramatic building, designed by world renowned architect Sir Terry Farrell, jutting over the River Humber. The Deep tells the story of the world's oceans, from the Big Bang to present day and into the future. Stunning aquatic exhibits. including a 10m deep tank with the world's deepest tunnel, are complemented by the next generation of interactives.
