During her life-time, Princesse Grace had expressed her wish for the creation of a Japanese Garden in the Principality. After three years of construction, Monaco now has a 7,000 square meter Japanese Garden which was built over an underground parking on Avenue Princesse Grace. This creation, inaugurated on 7th May 1994, is the work of architect Yasuo Beppu, first-place winner at the Osaka Exhibition in 1990.
