The Kittelsen House
| |
| Lauvlia, which was built in 1899, was the home of Inga and Theodor Kittelsen in Sigdal. It has a scenic view of Lake Soneren, and is decorated with Kittelsen's own woodcarvings and murals. Kittelsen was known for his poetic paintings, and for his illustrations of Norwegian fairy tales, including drawings of dragons, trolls, figures, animals and landscapes. A new exhibition of original Kittelsen works is opened each year and painting and drawing activities are arranged for children, e.g. in the Childrens's House and The Troll Amphi. |
