The Mount
| |
| The Mount is a country house in Lenox, Massachusetts, the home of noted American author Edith Wharton. She had her villa built on this 130-acre lakeside property in 1902 and lived here 10 years before leaving for France, never to return. Wharton took an active hand in the creation of The Mount, which makes the mansion a notable rarity - it's one of the few designated National Historic Landmarks designed by a woman. |
