Established in 1884 (making it Thailand's first public museum) the National Museum Bangkok is reputedly the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia. It is definitely worth spending at least half a day here, particularly if you are heading to Ayutthaya or Sukhothai, the former Thai capitals.
