The Museum of Byzantine Culture of Thessaloniki opened its doors in 1994, as a center of preservation, study and exhibition of the civilization of the Byzantine Empire. The Museum covers all periods of the Byzantine culture, from the 4th century early Byzantine to the 15th century death throes of the Empire under the Paleologos dynasty.
