Tulsa Air and Space Museum opened to the public in 1998 in a 1940's era hangar owned by the Spartan School of Aeronautics. The museum chronicles the Tulsa area's rich aerospace history specifically and Oklahoma in general. Not only is it a history museum but it also conducts daily classes to teach children about math and science and its relationship to aviation. The museum recently opened a Spitz ESky theater and planetarium, the first for Tulsa. With a total of 18 acres on the new museum campus it still have room to expand.
