The White Mountain National Forest in central New Hampshire is one of America's most popular public lands, registering more visitors annually than Yellowstone and Yosemite combined. The Forest's diversity of habitat provides a home for wildlife ranging from spotted salamanders to black bear and moose, with no fewer than 184 species of birds to boot.
