Classic horseshoe-shaped opera house

This is a mid-nineteenth century opera house with a traditonal horeshoe auditorium, well worh a visit if you collect that sort of thing! We noted that the angels decorating each of the tiers got were youngest at the highest tier and got progressively older on each tier below, just as they do in the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. The houses are much the same age - wasa that a particular design feature at the time? We saw a performance of Dvorak's 'The Devil and Kate', a beautifully staged and performed comic opera composed by a local lad (the opera had its premiere in the theatre). Try to go to a perfomance of a Czech work: they get too little exposure in other countries.
