Buses Retiro bus terminal is at Avenida Antártida and Ramos Mejía (tel 011/4310-0700). Note that it's almost impossible to get through on the station's general information number. If you know the name of the bus company you want (usually available by calling the relevant casa de provincia ), you could call direct to check the timetable and, in most cases, make a reservation or credit-card purchase. Otherwise, you're probably best off visiting the terminal in person, where there is a useful information booth to help you make sense of the hundreds of boleterías or ticket counters. Exchange Buenos Aires is the only city in the country where you will find it relatively easy to change travellers' cheques, but it can still turn into a lengthy transaction. The majority of bureaux de change are located around the financial district; particularly along San Martín - rates are similar at all of them and opening hours are generally Monday to Friday 9am-6pm. Only a few open on Saturday morning. American Express, at Arenales 707, changes its own cheques commission free.
