Interesting interactive museum

Small private museum showing the everyday in GDR. Surely advisable. Price only 5,5 ?, cheap considering how interesting and many things there are to do for a museum. Interesting to see and experience how they lived in the GDR. It surpriced me that they had several things - which they also had in the western society - than I thought. PROS: - Interesting and informative - Interactive (You are allowed to touch the most of the things. And there is a lot of things to try, discover and investigate) - Location in the inner city (nearby Alexander Platz) CONS: - Many people (often crowded) - not enough space

Best Museum I've ever been to.

Had an absolutely awesome time here, it was so much fun: really gives you a chance to see exactly how the people in East Germany lived. Very well put together and well worth a visit! Would definitely go back!

Great place, lots of people

I went here during the day on a weekday and it was packed with people. It's a little hard to find, it is right beside the river, you have to go down stairs from the main street. A smallish kind of place but lots of great videos and history and cheap to get in.

A Great Museum

A great museum- interactive, informative, reconstruction of life as it would have been in the DDR. Visited the Stasi museum which was far too text orientated. The DDR museum gets it just about spot on. Worth a visit.

Worth the visit!

Find out about life in East Germany at the DDR museum. It is extremely well located by Berliner Dom making it easy to find. We popped in in the evening which seemed to be a popular idea for a lot of people. It is highly interactive which drawers and cupboards to open containing information and an actual Trabant for you to sit in. It's packed full of information on what life would have been like in DDR and how it changed over the years as people got disenchanted with the appearence of "Western" goods for Western travellers. I found it excellent value for money and although it seemed small on first appearences we spent ove 1 hour in there as a lot of information is hidden away in cupboards!
