Bradford Camps has been a traditional sporting camp in northern Maine since 1890 catering to the true sportsman and naturalist alike. The camps occupy pristine Munsungan Lake, which is our primary water for native brook trout, landlocked salmon and lake trout. Eight comfortable cabins are vintage log construction complete with full bath and are cleaned daily. The lodge serves hearty and delicious breakfasts, lunches and suppers.
Fishing starts in May and remains excellent through September for the spin caster and fly fisherman. Remote outpost camps are available; the rare blueback charr is caught on one of those ponds. Other summer activites include fishing, hiking, swimming, nature study, sporting clays, whitewater rafting, and just relaxing.
October is grouse hunting month. Open hardwood and dense softwood cover surrounds our area laced with miles of grown up skid roads. We offer guided bear hunting during the beginning of September. Our deer hunting in November is in the wildest woods Maine has to offer. The varied topography and ecology around Munsungan make these woods a big buck haven for which northern Maine is well known.
All this is wrapped up in the beauty of the North Maine Woods and the hospitality of a traditional sporting camp. We look forward to sharing it with you.
The Bradford Camps: just like it used to be.
Property amenities:
Your accommodations are the finest Maine has to offer. Ours are the only cabins on the lake and our beautiful grounds are described as the most scenic in Maine. Our eight guest cabins are vintage log construction with hot and cold running water and full bath. Each is cleaned daily by our staff and the wood stoves are kept warm during colder days.
Our main lodge serves delicious breakfasts, hot lunches and dinners. We serve turkey dinners, prime rib, pork loin, fresh fish, fresh vegetables from our garden, home baked breads, pies and cakes for dessert, and an open menu breakfast. You won't leave the table hungry! Special dietary needs can be accommodated. We will pack a lunch for you if you are planning on spending the day in the woods or on the many ponds, streams, and rivers that have excellent brook trout fly fishing.
