M12529 offers guests a unique insight into the ecology of a tropical rainforest along with the knowledge that by staying at M12529, they are contributing to the conservation of plants and animals found nowhere else on earth.

Sitting high on a hill to catch the cooling breezes and views across the forest to the Coral Sea beyond, the Sanctuary long house captures the essence of the tropics.
Polished hardwood floors, high ceilings with fans lazily shifting the balmy air and a balcony situated perfectly to watch the sunrise heralded by a dawn chorus or a full moon appear out of the sea at sunset.
Accommodation is in secluded forest huts and cabins nestled under the rainforest canopy.

Blessed with an abundance of nature, there is much to see and do in Mission Beach. The closest mainland point to the Great Barrier Reef means that travel times are shorter and with just four reef boats, your experience of this amazing natural wonder is shared by only a select few. Just offshore are many deserted islands to sail or sea-kayak to and explore, most of which are protected National Parks.
For the more adventurous, there is some of the best white water rafting in Australia nearby as well the opportunity to parachute over and land on one of the most scenic coastlines in the world. The rainforests surrounding Mission Beach offer a wealth of sights and sounds to the walker with a diverse range of habitats and eco-systems to explore.

M12529’s bookings deposit policy is that for cancellations more than 72 hours prior to the arrival date, the deposit will be refunded (less an AUD $10.00 handling fee).
For cancellations less than 72 hours prior to the arrival date, the deposit will be forfeited unless the rooms are onsold, in which case the deposit will be refunded (less an AUD $10.00 handling fee).
M12529 is located on the top of a steep hill giving wonderful views. However, the steep terrain means that to make the most out of M12529, intending guests should be reasonably fit and physically active. Sanctuary regrets that we are unable to accommodate children under the age of 11 years old.
