Key Information:
Specialty Category: Hunting lodges
Location: Quebec
Region: Canada
Min Price: 700 US Dollar (USD) per day
Max Price: 900 US Dollar (USD) per day

Our company operates its aircraft from its own private dock. You won't lose valuable time on the 1st day of your hunt waiting on the next available floatplane to fly you into camp. If a move to a more productive camp would prove to be beneficial it will be done "free of charge" without hesitation or complication.

We have 25 fully operational camps strategically located throughout the Ungava region of Northern Quebec. 17 camps are kept as spare camps. They are continually scouted throughout the season, by use of our private Cessna 185 and by strategically placing a spare guide in designated camps.

Quebec has two major herds of Caribou, the George River Herd and the Leaf River Herd. M09712 is one of the few outfitters to have camps intercepting both herds. With constant changes in the migrations nobody should depend on just one herd. Some of the camps that intercept the Leaf River Herd are over 200 air miles from Schefferville and are very costly to fly hunters into, however when needed hunters are flown into these camps immediately at no extra cost.

Quebec's sub-arctic tundra is not only home to the world's largest herd of migrating caribou but it is also home to numerous lakes and rivers that are crystal clear and abound with brook trout, lake trout, landlocked char and northern pike. Over the past 20+ years we have built a series of twenty-five outpost camps scattered throughout northern Quebec. Most of these camps offer excellent fishing, however a few of them stand out from the rest and offer exceptionally good fishing.

By choosing three of our best fishing camps to use for our fishing only packages we are certain that our clients will experience some of the best fishing Quebec has to offer. We strictly offer catch & release fishing with barbless hooks, however you can eat as many fish as you would like while at camp. Expect to catch trophy size brook trout and/or landlocked artic char ranging from one to seven pounds, lake trout from three to twenty pounds with the odd thirty-pound trout being hooked, northern pike up to twenty-five pounds.

Property amenities:
M09712 now has twenty-five well-equipped camps strategically located covering all areas accessible by floatplane from Schefferville and we will continue to monitor any changes in the migration and build new camps where necessary. Since we only book eight camps at one time we have a three to one ratio of spare camps, we believe with this many spare camps we can offer you the best chance of success in Northern Quebec.

Nearby attractions and activities:
A fishing or hunting trip in the Ungava region of Northern Quebec provides the sportsman with thrilling action in a true wilderness setting. This rugged area, studded with lakes, streams and rivers with plenty of white water, abounds in fish and wildlife. For some this is a "once in a lifetime" trip which requires a great deal of planning. We will do everything possible on our part so that you have a wonderful and successful trip.

Policy:
- Our hunt is open from August 13th throughout October 1st.
- Hunts are scheduled for six days. However, you should be prepared to spend an extra day, as weather may not always permit flying.
- No extra charge for black bear hunting or fishing, except licenses.
- Bear season opens August 25th and stays open throughout the remainder of our hunt.
- In general fishing closes September 7th, however a catch and release licenses strictly for lake trout is available afterwards and is valid throughout our Caribou hunt.
- Your charter flight arrangements from Montreal are arranged by Jack Hume Adventures.
- We have a private counter at the airport in Schefferville, where we will meet you upon your arrival.

Packages:
For 1 Guide x 6 Hunters package - $5600.00

This hunt is for those of you who want some help from an experienced guide but don't require the guide to stay by your side while hunting. The guide is equipped with a 14 foot aluminium boat and outboard motor which he uses in order to drop off each pair of hunters in areas where caribou have been known to travel. The guide is also responsible for scouting the area for caribou movement, doing a variety of camp chores and once you've harvested your trophy he will help you with the chores of quartering, deboning, caping and packing out your caribou.

For 1 Guide x 3 Hunters package - $6000.00

We designed this package for those of you who like to spend some time being guided, while keeping a portion of your time to hunt on your own. Once you've harvested your caribou your guide will look after all the chores of quartering, caping, deboning, and packing your trophy back to camp for you. You're only required to hunt and enjoy yourself on this package! (Not a bad deal for just a few dollars extra.)

For 1 Guide x 2 Hunters package - $6400.00

For those of you who want nothing but the best of everything we have to offer, this is the package for you! Each pair of hunters is accompanied by a full time guide on this hunt. Your guide will help you spot, stalk and/or put an ambush on your caribou and once your caribou is harvested he will look after all the chores of quartering, deboning, caping and packing it out for you. The camps reserved for this particular hunt package also have upgraded facilities along with separate sleeping quarters for couples and an upgraded food order. It doesn't get much better than this!

Trophy Hunt package, 1 Guide x 2 Hunters - $7600.00

We've designed this package in order to put all the odds on your side! As the name of the package would suggest the emphasis on this package is finding our hunters trophy size caribou! This hunt takes place during the very last week of our season. We only book two groups of six hunters into our trophy hunt and this special group of hunters has the privilege of hunting from our two most productive camps during a period when the bulls are in their pre-rut phase. (Keeping in mind we cover the migration corridors of both the Leaf River herd and George River herd and have 25 outpost cabins and 2 spike camps located throughout our territory to choose from. That is a lot of territory covered and a lot of camps to choose from!)
