Our string of extremely well trained and well mannered Quarter Horses are available for you to ride during whichever week you pick over varying terrain at all speeds doing real cowboy work. No "head to tail" trail riding here! During Cowboy Adventure weeks, ride the range all day,then belly up to the bar, relax in our western saloon and swap wild west stories with the cowboys, fulfill your cowboy fantasy with expert instruction, step by step assistance in a fun, supportive environment. Our cattle ranch covers about 7,000 acres and cares for around 1000 cows and calves in Colorado's real ranch country. We are not a typical dude ranch or guest ranch resort, but a real working cattle ranch in full operation.

During Cowboy Adventure weeks guests become cowboys for the week as they assist us gathering cattle off the range, doctoring sicks, driving cattle, branding calves, checking water, salt and fences - whatever normal ranch activity is going on at the time of their visit. We have been offering this experience to guests since 1991 and the response has been overwhelming! This is what people are looking for. The opportunity to participate in real ranch work on a working cattle ranch yet have great accommodations, good food and extra amenities like our heated indoor swimming pool. Cowboy School occurs on summer afternoons when the morning cattle work is finished. It is the perfect place for you to improve your riding skills, learn to handle cattle and learn to rope. Cowboy School includes team penning, cutting, roping and other things cowboys do for fun. Cowboy School is progressive and builds in intensity and complexity as your skills and abilities improve.

Property amenities:
Our all adult clientele enjoy our log cabin accomodations. Private bathrooms and entrances in each room. Rooms feature either one queen size bed or two twin size beds. All rooms are heated and air conditioned, unlimited hot water, down comforters, mini fridge and coffee/tea bar in every room. Western Saloon in the main house features a custom stocked bar. Meals are home cooked and you can count on lots of well prepared and good tasting food. Appetizers are served during happy hour from 6 - 7 every evening and snacks are available 24 hours a day. Cattle work rides all day then Cowboy School in the late afternoons give you lots of instruction in roping, riding and working cattle. Learn to team pen, cow catch, learn fundimental cutting and reining. Our indoor riding facility assures that even on the occasional rainy day you can still be in the saddle practicing roping, team penning and other horseback skills. The rest of the time you will ride our extremely well trained horses doing real cowboy work out on the range just like in the old western movies you loved as a kid. Ride the range doctoring sick cattle, participate in cattle drives, vaccinate, brand calves, check water and fences - live that cowboy dream! Head on in to the saloon around 6 for happy hour and appetizers before dinner.

Weekly rodeos nearby from mid June to mid August on Friday nights, Cheyenne Frontier days rodeo in late July and early August, Greeley Stampede rodeo on the fourth of July, Earl Anderson Memorial Rodeo in Grover over Fathers Day weekend, Bashor Ranch select horse sale in June, horse sales, horse competitions and clinics here and there through out the summer months, Cabelas Outfitters headquarter store is nearby, great western shopping for western clothing and tack in Cheyenne, museums and historical trails and byways, dinosaur dig sometimes open to the public.

Policy:
50% deposit required to hold reservations, deposit is not refundable but reservation dates can be changed and the reservation can be transfered to another person. Check in after 3 pm on Sunday, check out before 10 am on Saturday. Pets welcome, no kids. Smoking in designated smoking areas only. All indoor facilities are non smoking.
