Inisrath House is located on Inisrath Island, Upper L. Erne, about 2 hours drive North West of Dublin. From the Sixth Century AD Loch Erne was the destination of monks and ascetics attracted to the natural beauty, serenity and remoteness of the area. Over a millennium ago no less than five monasteries were established on different islands of the 40-mile long lake. We are located in a Victorian Country House on a 22-acre wooded lake island in a nature reserve.
In 1986 the lake isle of Inisrath was purchased by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, who have maintained a temple on the island since that time. The ancient arati ceremony of Hindu and Buddhist temples is performed seven times daily, along with meditaiton and chants - the first service is at 4.30am.
In 2005 Director Tim McEvitt, a yoga instructor, meditation guide and former monk set up 'Lake Isle Retreats' with his wife Champapakalata Devi. Lake Isle Retreats host and cater for retreats at Inisrath. Tim remains also a Director of ISKCON NI, the charitable group who own the island. We have newly refurbished en suite guest rooms, and can cater for retreats from 1 to 18 persons.

Inisrath Island is located about 90 miles from both Dublin and Belfast, and the driving time from airports of the two cities is 2 hours.
Policy:
Our packages are generally designed for a 2 to 3 day stay, with a two night-stay as minimum stay period. Smoking, alcohol and non-vegetarian foodstuffs not allowed on island. Children are welcome and u/12s stay for free.
