The farm house, or "casa de hacienda", the name given in Ecuador's highlands to these large buildings, was built with local materials: straw, eucalyptus wood, adobe and sun-dried brick. Our guests can enjoy a comfortable and functional stay.
Our basic principles are to take care of nature and to aid the inhabitants of the region where we work. For this reason we, together with Fundación Páramo, have designed community service programs. The goal of these programs is to foster the positive development and preservation of the region as well as the personal growth of the volunteers.
The Bedrooms, called "machais" after an old word alluding "páramo" caves, recall the huts built by highland Indians with their straw roofs and walls made of "estera" (the name given to a reed or cattail mat woven by the skilled hands of local craftsmen). Each bedroom can lodge two persons, except the master bedroom where four persons can sleep. Close to the straw that covers the roofs, sleep is easy in these rooms with "esteras" woven by skilled hands, curtains made of ancestral hemp cloth, and soft and comfortable beds.
The Dining Rooms - A fireplace built in thick "tapial" wall warms the dining room that overlooks a large patio surrounded with buildings used for farming purposes. Ever-changing Sincholagua and magnificent cone-shaped Cotopaxi adorn the view.
Next to the patio is "La Tienda". You will be fascinated with its artistic ceramic objects and fabrics handmade by local craftsmen, ponchos, scarves, articles for your personal care, souvenirs and postcards. The patio: The house's functional heart, a meeting place warmed during the night by an old bread oven. A band provides music for dancing on feast days. In sunny mornings, the patio is an ideal spot that protects you from the cool breeze.
Four complete bathrooms and three hot water showers are available. Nothing is better than a warm shower after a day of adventure in close contact with nature and is the perfect complement for your comfort in these Andean places.
Surrounded by quiet and silence, welcomed by musical flames dancing in the fireplace, and perhaps sipping a glass of wine, you can relax in our comfortable sofas and enjoy a hospitable atmosphere.

Nothing is better than to sit at table and enjoy the delicious dishes cooked by Conchita. Fresh cheese from the farm, vegetables just picked from the garden, home-made desserts, and natural condiments will be the components of each and every wonderful meal that you will enjoy here.
