This luxurious spa resort rewards its guests enchanting moments in a strikingly rich architectural setting. The island’s history which dates back over 2700 years, its mild climate, the naturalistic environment and Lacco Ameno's hospitality are all reasons to spend some time here in any season of the year. Mediterranean savoir vivre devoted to elegance and beauty characterizes the atmosphere which reigns in every lounge and terrace of the resort. Guests of the resort experience typical Neapolitan culture with its colors, warmth and vitality through personalized service and special care for detail.
1950’s style furnishings combined with paintings by contemporary artists and elements of design are seen throughout the resort. The resort’s architecture and interior decorating clearly shows evidence of a culture founded on appreciation of beauty and good taste. The bright and lofty Mediterranean style interiors are decorated with original Capodimonte ceramics, hand painted tiles, antique pieces in the typical style of Patrician Neapolitan villas decorated with Murano chandeliers, paintings and tapestries of the finest craftsmanship.
The resort has 128 rooms, including 27 luxury accommodations. Attentive toward any new breakthroughs in the aesthetic and medical field, the Spa offers thermal plastic (anti-aging) dermatological treatments. These are true miracles of eternal youth that use the benefits of thermal waters to produce a longer lasting effect in the prevention of skin aging and other skin problems.
Staying at our resort means embracing a new philosophy in the health and wellness scene. It plays a leading role in glamorous, cultural, wine and gastronomic events that liven the days and nights of Ischia. Among the most important ones are the prestigious “Premio Ischia Internazionale di Giornalismo” (Ischia International Journalism Award), the film festival “Global Film and Music Fest” which attracts renowned celebrities, the “Ischia Jazz” festival and the “Ischia Vintage” enogastronomical festival. This resort is also known for its parties to celebrate “Ferragosto” (a traditional Italian holiday in mid-August), the end of August and New Year’s Eve.
All rooms offer the highest levels of comfort, following its centennial tradition of hospitality and are equipped with air conditioning, satellite television and radio, Bang & Olufsen video systems, safe deposit box, mini-bar, direct international dialing telephones, in-room ADSL cable connection and Wi-Fi in public areas (terraces and lounges). The “Terme della Regina Isabella” offer a variety of treatments that take advantage of the qualities of multi-active thermal water and mud baths as well as the beneficial effects of various massage treatments, specific programs, diets and active or passive exercise routines.
This magnificent spa resort has four swimming pools, two outdoor and two indoor. The first outdoor pool is on the beach above sea level, contains purified seawater and is surrounded by a solarium with wood floored deck and comfortable lounge chairs. The other is filled with thermal water or heated seawater and is the ideal pool for “talasso” therapy (sea-water based therapy) in which to simply relax. One indoor pool contains thermal-water for regenerating baths and the second, known as the “Risveglio dei Sensi” pool (sensorial awakening pool) is filled with thermal-water used for various therapeutic treatments such as music-therapy, chrome-therapy and aromatherapy. There are also two docks, equipped with lounge-chairs and sun umbrellas from which guests have easy access to the sea.
Nearby attractions and activities:
Parco Termale Negombo: In 1946 the great humanist and traveller, Duke Luigi Silvestro Camerini arrived on Ischia. He was in search of a place where he could create a park in which his passion for botany would be satisfied. He had spent many weeks on Capri and on Ponza where he had been confined for his political ideas but it was the beauty of the bay of San Montano on Ischia which captured his interest because of its astonishing resemblance to the enchanting Negombo bay of Ceylon. After buying up over fifty properties, he was able to call the bay his own and to transform it from a cultivated marsh into a flourishing park.
The church of Santa Restituta: The protector saint of the town was celebrated with a magnificent building of the XIVth century, built on the piazza of the same name in the centre of the town.
The museum and excavation sites of Santa Restituta: the museum annexed to the church has three rooms displaying sacred objects made of silver, antique paintings and statues of the Neapolitan baroque period. The excavation sites have been divided into four areas. The first shows kilnmen’s equipment of the 7th century BC which was used for heating argil; the second contains a grid of walls and tombs carved into the floors of the Roman period as well as a stone altar containing the relics of St. Restituta in an urn; the third contains a large room containing objects of Greek origin; the fourth area allows you to visit the Christian cemetery with its many tombs - stacked in piles of three.
Villa Arbusto: Old residence of extraordinary beauty built by the Duke of Atri, Carlo D’Acquaviva, in the XVIIth century on ancient settlements dating back to the Neolithic period and the Bronze Age. It was once the residence of A Rizzoli. It has been recently bought by Lacco Ameno’s town council and turned into a museum.
The Mushroom: Enormous mass of tufa rock eroded by water and wind and transformed into this peculiar shape. It has become the town’s symbol and can be seen in the Marina di Lacco harbour.
S Montano Bay: wonderful bay with a beach bearing the same name; suitable for those who cannot swim or cannot swim very well, thanks to its shallow waters and sandy bottom. You can take a dip or walk in the sea itself at several metres’ distance from the shoreline.
Aragonese Tower: Built in the XVth century by Alfonso I of Aragon and used as a sighting and defence tower against the Saracen pirates.
