M12203 is centred on a beautifully preserved, Mediaeval 16th Century manor house, set in the foothills of the majestic Black Mountains on the fringes of the Brecon Beacons National Park. This year's Les Routiers Welsh hotel of the year, with an award-winning restaurant, M12203 is an excellent base for a wide range of outdoor and indoor leisure and recreational pursuits centred on the hotel's own indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi.

Lush lawned gardens lead down to the River Monnow fronting the hotel which, together with the Elizabethan Knot Garden in the walled gardens at the rear of the hotel create perfect gatherings as well as exquisite wedding photographs. The facilities, setting and location combine to make M12203 the ideal holiday venue as well as for corporate gatherings and entertaining, seminars, team building and leadership courses, and the full range of the social and corporate events. Our aim always is to make these special, memorable and rewarding.

M12203 is an ideal base for a wide range of outdoor and indoor leisure pursuits. The hotel boasts its own indoor heated swimming, sauna and spa bath. For those looking to try their hand at shooting, we have a covered state-of-the-art clay pigeon shooting range. We also offer fishing from the hotel grounds on the Rivers Monnow and Honddu where trout and grayling abound.

Within easy access of the hotel we have some first class walking - the renowned Offa’s Dyke Pathway is only half a mile away. Golfers, of all standards, are also well catered for with seven golf courses close to the hotel - the nearest is only a few minutes drive away. For those seeking more active passtimes, there is horse-riding, caving, cycling, off-road and quad-bike driving, balloonning, hang- and para-gliding and much, much more. The races at Hereford, Chepstow or Cheltenham provide for those of us who enjoy the sport of spectating.

Property amenities:
The hotel has 21 beautifully appointed en suite bedrooms (3 in the main house and 18 in the gardens close to the hotel) offering all modern conveniences that today’s discerning traveller requires. The Jacobean Suite in the main house still retains its original oak panelling and 16th Century four poster bed. The garden bedrooms are in sympathetically converted stables, outbuildings and a newly built block (clad in the same stone as the main house) providing spacious and well furnished accommodation - most with views over the mountains and woodlands surrounding the hotel.

Many original features remain in the house - including the moulded ceiling and oak panelling in the living room. In winter, roaring log fires provide the perfect ambience to relax and while away the hours, whilst during the summer, french windows open out onto the patio and lawns fronting the hotel providing a cool retreat from the warm summer sunshine.

The end to a perfect day? A swim, followed by a dip in our spa pool and a relaxing sauna? Or a perfect meal? Dine in our award winning restaurant and enjoy the best of modern British cooking with a bottle of your favourite wine.
