M11477 is a beautiful old manor house in Springbok, Namaqualand, at the foot of a rugged “koppie” where the first commercial mine in South Africa was started in 1852. Ideal as a stop-over between Cape Town and Windhoek or Upington, we cater for the discerning tourist and business traveller. Our bed & breakfast guesthouse is a 3 star, accredited pension and a 3-time semi-finalist in the AA Accommodation Awards. We offer excellent luxury accommodation and hospitality, something the Afrikaner people are well known for.
M11477 is a B&B guesthouse in the heart of Springbok, the centre of Namaqualand, "God's own Garden", in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. Annie's Cottage is an African Dream come true. The old manor house was lovingly restored by Petronella to its former colonial glory. With luxurious en-suite rooms where no luxury is spared and lazy afternoons can be spent around the swimming pool, enjoying a book on the verandah or under our shady old Jacaranda trees.
Springbok offers many attractions, historical sites, museums and fine restaurants. Springbok is very close to the famous Namaqualand wildflower reserves and to the remote Richtersveld National Park. Springbok is the gateway to Namibia, only 120 kms from the Orange River border.
Namaqualand is a wide and beautiful semi-desert region, dotted with giant granite boulder stacks. Between these 'koppies' the outstretched savannah lands is the home of God-fearing sheep- and goatfarmers. Springtime in Namaqualand is in August and September. Then the sandy plains become God's own Garden, when the wild spring flowers burst into a kaleidoscope of colour.
We would love to accommodate you in one of our 10 luxury en suite rooms, all with private entrances, either onto our lovely tranquil garden or our verandah. All rooms have cooling/heating or air-conditioning and crisp white Egyptian cotton bedding, 21cm mattresses, electrical blankets, feather duvets, complimentary tea/coffee and M-Net TV. Safe parking.
Enjoy breakfast in our 'voorhuis' furnished with old South African Africana cottage furniture with French doors that open into the garden. A cooked English breakfast, variety of cereals, fruits in season and bottomless coffee, and juice are included. Cappuccino and espresso are available. We also cater for Continental breakfasts or vegetarians on request.
Rest with us and enjoy our beautiful cool garden and swimming pool. Classic little shops and restaurants are only 500 m walking distance to the old town and tourist information office and a lively central open market where a happy atmosphere invite all to stay a while.
