The cliff side living room is 40 feet above the jungle floor and is open on 3 sides to a rain forest that abounds with exotic wildlife. You will feel like you are living in a tree house; hummingbirds fly inside to drink from flower arrangements; 3 species of monkeys jump from tree top to tree top at eye level; and toucans lunch just beside the sofas. A stunning 24 foot post and beam constructed ceiling acts as a man-made canopy that protects from occasional afternoon rains, tropical sun, and provides maximum ventilation for the ever present ocean breezes. The view is spectacular, encompassing the peninsula of the world famous Manuel Antonio National Park, its small pacific islands, and the rainforest of Costa Rica’s most visited town.
One level down from the grand salon is the master suite. The 500 square feet includes a stone bath with Jacuzzi; double headed shower; large wrap around, ocean view balcony; ample sofa seating; and a king size bed. The level below has two jungle/pool view bedrooms, one with a king and the other a queen size bed, each with its own bath. On the pool level is another king size bedroom with a bath that features a sunken tub. This room overlooks the gardens and swimming pool. The pool is a natural jungle style oasis, with a 20-foot water fall, rock stair entry, and beautifully planted tropical gardens. It has been designed with a lap lane and separate swim area to allow exercise and play simultaneously. The pool house, located adjacent to the pool, is considered by many to be the most relaxing room in the entire home. It has 3 sofas that may be converted into 3 twin beds or 1 king and one twin. It is enclosed by screens and is cooled by ocean breezes that almost always requires a nighttime blanket. It is nestled into the trees at its back and looks out over the pool and waterfall in front. There is also a kitchenette with large fridge, sink and outside barbecue. Downstairs the pool house has two air conditioned bedrooms and baths, each with its own open air shower. One bedroom has a king size bed and the other offers 3 twins. The overall 4 story design of the main house is evocative of an observation tower. The small footprint of 600 square feet minimizes environmental impact, but the top mushrooms out into a 1,200 sq. feet of living space. The entire home encompasses 5 stories and has the convenience of an elevator. The ideal climate of the region allows the great room to be without walls, and enables an ideal tropical life style: harmonious living in a natural surrounding paradise. Indeed this was a defining design concept. The view is reminiscent of a Japanese Zen rock garden and inspired the Asian style roof which is based on the minka folk houses of early 17th century Japan. The house is truly "handmade". Every element was created by local craftsmen and constructed of indigenous materials. Sink basins were thrown to specified size and color; column bases, doorways and windows were carved to match pre-Columbian archetypes. The house is supported by a management company that will satisfy all your needs for an exceptional vacation. The house is fully staffed and a gourmet chef is available to prepare unforgettable tropical meals; your own house maids that will make your stay care free and who do daily laundry, and most importantly, your own concierge who can book any tours or travel arrangements that you desire. Seven years of experience and satisfied customers can guarantee that your vacation in this fantastic home is truly unforgettable.
