Here you will find one of the world’s largest concentration of pigeons, where the plains and rolling hills combine with the rich, irrigated farmland. Hunters help to keep the population down, since pigeons are considered a national plague for the agriculture. The food supply and the right weather conditions provide a perfect setting for these birds. Choosing among several targets at the same time, hunters can be expected to shoot from 500 to more than 1000 shells per day.
Uruguay is a virtual “hunters paradise” when it comes to perdiz hunting. It is exciting to hear the flapper of their wings once they are spotted by dogs trained to pick-up their scent, so hunters may shoot the perfect target when they fly away. You will be able to taste its delicious white meat in various typical dishes.
Ducks swarm our vast lakes, lagoons and rice fields. The prime duck habitat is in the South-Eastern coast of Uruguay and the North-Eastern frontier (extra charges for ground transport and hotel accommodation).
