Description of the Enriched Air (Nitrox) Course:
What is Enriched Air (Nitrox)?
Nitrox is any combination of nitrogen and oxygen. You have been breathing Nitrox since the day you were born. The air that we breathe is comprised of approximately 21% oxygen and 79% nitrogen.
Nitrox mixtures with percentages of oxygen greater than 21% are called Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx). As an EANx diver you are allowed to dive with a mix of up to 40% Oxygen. The commonly used EANx mixtures are EAN 32 (32% oxygen / 68% nitrogen) and EAN 36 (36% oxygen/64% nitrogen).
Why PADI Enriched Air Diver?
Enriched Air saves you time by allowing you to:
- Stay underwater longer.
- Get back into the water sooner
- Get your certification while simultaneously completing dives for other PADI courses plus, by diving with Enriched Air you may feel less tired after your dives.
How much more time can I be under-water?
For example, if you dive to 26 meters on air, your no decompression limit is 20 minutes. But, diving on EANx36 gets you 50 minutes of no decompression time - an increase of 30 minutes! It's perfect for underwater photographers, wreck divers and anyone who wants to stay down longer.
