A Walk & Ride on the Wild Side:
This trip begins at the base of Mesa De Anguilla. The hiking part of the trip will take us to "Entrance Camp" on the banks of the Rio Grande River. There we will meet with the boat guides for our ride through the spectacular Santa Elena Canyon. This can be a one or two day trip, depending on water levels and your capability.
For the one day trip we will go directly to Entrance Camp and have lunch and then load into the raft for our river trip. (This trip is NOT available during low water periods).
The two day trip will be a full day of hiking on the mesa and camping out for a star filled night. After breakfast in the morning we will board our raft for an all day trip through Santa Elena Canyon with a short side hike into Fern Canyon and shuttle back to our office in Terlingua.
The TEX Combo River and Horseback Riding Trip:
Big Bend River Tours and the local stables invites you to join us for the ultimate frontier experience. Start your adventure on horseback and explore the historic Comanche Creek area on the Texas side of the river. Explore ancient Indian sites and candellia wax camps. Camp out beneath the stars on the banks of the Rio Grande. Then wake up to a cowboy style breakfast and begin your journey on the river. The beauty and grandeur all around you will leave you breathless. During lower water the river trip portion will be done in canoes or "duckies" (inflatable kayaks). This trip combines two exciting ways to explore the Big Bend.
