Colorado River. This spectacular canyon country of the Colorado Plateau, including Ruby and Horsethief Canyons, features majestic walls of red sandstone and offers some of the best canoing in Colorado. The river is gentle with occasional small Class I+ rapids to add spice to the journey. Roads do not bound this portion of the river and the steep-walled canyons are accessible only from the river, giving the area a true wilderness setting. Camping along the river's banks, exploring a natural amphitheater with ancient Indian rock art or hiking into deep box canyons will leave you awed by the immensity of geologic time and the silence of the wilderness.
Colorado River to Moab. This legendary gateway into beautiful Moab is Utah’s crown jewel for breathtaking scenery! Paddle past the renowned jagged spires of Fisher Towers and the panoramic views of the snow-capped La Sal Mountains. You'll encounter tributary streams such as Onion Creek, Ida Gulch and Professor and Castle Creeks as they join our 30-mile river stretch from Dewey Bridge to Moab Bridge in Moab, UT. This gentle river, flavored with rapids up to Class II in difficulty, has sandy beaches providing ideal camping and fabulous vistas. Savor images of shadowed mountains, red rocks, green vegetation and cool water while canoing in Utah on the Colorado River. Notes:
