Music Trips:
Music & Storytelling:
This is our annual river hootenanny featuring Centennial guides who have sung and played music together for years. Join us for this lighthearted shindig that you'll sign up for year after year. Shucks, feel free to bring that fiddle, harmonica, banjo or piano and join in the fun. And, you can bet yer britches you'll hear some very "tall" western tales recited around the campfire too!
Music with Small Potatoes:
The Small Potatoes band will be singing on the Gunnison River, July 28-30, 2006. Their music is "Celtic to Cowboy" and includes a mix that ranges from country, blues, and swing to Irish, with songwriting that touches on all of those styles and more. They hail from Chicago and have played in concerts across the country. This is a rare opportunity to spend a weekend with the artists in a very private and intimate setting. They were a hit last year, so we're bringing them back for an encore performance!
Naropa University:
The liberal arts college in Boulder, CO, Naropa University, offers two classes conducted on the river for college credit. The Journey to the Source course draws from the disciplines of meditation, yoga, group process, ecopsychology and poetry, enhancing our awareness of the body of the earth, which we are an integral part. The Wilderness Therapy Professional Training curriculum focuses on group dynamics and developmental psychology applied in a remote setting.
