British Columbia's fly fishing opportunities offer some of the best fly fishing you'll find anywhere in Western Canada. We fly fishing for all 5 species of Pacific Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Cutthroat Trout and Dolly Varden Char.
Salmon fly fishing begins in late summer and lasts until the end of November. We begin by fishing for Sockeye Salmon in August, the runs are incredibly large with million of fish so catching them on the fly is not that difficult. On odd number years like 2003 we fly-fish for Pink Salmon beginning in early September, this fishery is great for beginners as Pink Salmon are abundant and easy to catch, on the average year we get over 8 million Pinks each year. Next up, we fish for Chinook, Coho and Chum salmon from October to late November, this is one of our most popular times for fly-fishers to experience the great fishing. Anglers from around the world converge on the Fraser Valley to fly-fish for salmon, guides and rooms are difficult to find as this is one of the busiest times of year.
