The mating period for caribou usually occurs during the period early October to mid November. Big Game Hunters enjoy the benefits of being able to hunt from lodges and/or outpost camps throughout the whole home range of the Middle Ridge herd, and, can be relocated anywhere within this home range if needed to ensure a successful hunt. This, as well as being able to hunt with guides who are experienced and knowledgeable about caribou movements.
During the past four years, our hunters have recorded the # 2 Pope and Young; the # 5 and #11 Boone and Crockett, and the # 4 and 5 SCI woodland caribou. The # 5 Boone and Crockett was the largest woodland caribou recorded within the past 30 years. 25% of the woodland caribou taken here are record book specimens.
