The most technical of the trips we offer, the Wairoa courses through a stunning rock and tree lined gorge. The trip combines turbulent rapids with exciting drops to produce top white water action. The water is usually diverted around the section of river we raft via a canal system and is used for power generation. 26 days a year the power station is shut down and the water released for recreational use. Perfect for a group outing, the Wairoa rafting trip is situated just off State Highway 29 between Matamata and Tauranga.
