The water is usually diverted around the section of river we raft via a canal system and is used for power generation. 26 days a year the power station is shut down and the water released for recreational use. This fantastic rafting adventure offers a stunning rock and tree lined gorge that combines turbulent rapids with exciting drops to produce top White water action. Perfect for a group outing, the Wairoa rafting trip is situated just off State Highway 29 between Matamata and Tauranga.

- Location: Ruahihi Road, 20 minutes from Tauranga. 2¼ hours from Auckland
- Trip time: 10.00 am and 1.00 pm
- We provide: lunch, full training, and all required specialist equipment
- Customers require: swimsuit and towel
