Professional photographs are taken of each River Rats rafting trip and the Tongariro River Grade 3 is suitable for people aged 10 years and over (some conditions apply for children under 13).
Let the whole family enjoy spending a leisurely afternoon cruising down the soft tumbling water of the Lower Tongariro. Our safe guided route brings the magic alive to first time rafters and especially children. See ample Rainbow trout cruising the crystal clear pools, and native bird species in their natural environment. Learn about the region’s volcanoes and the massive forces that shaped the unique landscape. The Tongariro Float Trip is available for young children, if accompanied by an adult.
Rafting Details:
- Location: Atirau Road, Turangi. 1 hour from Taupo, 2 hours from Rotorua. Allow 4 hours (excluding travel time).
- Trip times:
* Summer: 9.00 am and 2.00 pm
* Winter: 12.00 pm
- We provide: lunch, full training, all required specialist equipment and complimentary pick up from Turangi 10 minutes before trip time.
- Customers require: swimsuit and towel
- Minimum age: 10 years (conditions apply).
