Basic requirement for this course is Advanced Open Water certification or equivalent, 60 logged dives; where of minimum 4 dives are with nitrox, Nitrox II certificate; 18 year of age and a medical paper from the doctor.
The course familiarizes the student with:
- diving with a rebreather instead of the techniques behind it
- the differences between half open and closed systems
- the technical features of a closed system
- cleaning procedures
- the usage of the breathing filter
- the basic medical theory for hypo/hyperoxia
- COČ poisoning, calculations of NČ for nitrox diving between 32 and 60% EANx
- thecorrect filling of the breathing filter containers
- the correct set up of closed systems
- bottle fills
- gas calibrations
- flow measurements
- equipment and making sure the system is properly closed.
Further on you will be doing 6 dives with a maximum of 1.4 P.P.OČ, breathing exercises, simulating regulator recovery, P.P.OČ is too high, breathing filter is full, buddy out of air situation etc.
Also included in the course is the handbook. Rental equipment could be used for an extra charge.
