Sailing academy was envised by Tomislav Basic, a sailor who has since 1990. been a member of a national squad in various classes and disciplines and has won numerous medals on European, Mediterranian and Balkan championships. He was placed 5th and 8th on World championships, and in 2001. he won one of the most well known european regattas "Giro d' Italia". He has won seven national championships and has been second placed five times and third placed twice.
In past several years he has been competing in Match race class and has won races worldwide and has sailed in finals and semifinals of 1. class regattas and was placed 7th in the world proffesional ranking. World sailing federation (ISAF) nominated Tomislav Basic in 1997. for the best progress in the world for Match race sailing, and in 1999. Tomislav Basic was given medal "Red Danice hrvatske" for succeses in the field of sport by the decision of President of the Republic of Croatia dr. Franjo Tudman.
He is ranked by COB (Croatian Olympic Board) as a 1st category sportsman. For a long number of years beside his sporting activities he was also employed as a coach to various other seamen and helped them win medals and be top performers on World and European championships, Europa cup regattas and national championships.
His wast sailing expirience was acquired in competing with the best sailors of the world e.g. America's cup winners, Olympic and World champions, and in paralel, as a trainer of sailors in smaller classes he has acqured the expirience of transfering his knowledge to others.
Instructors who will be beside you at the Academy are all top seamen, who will allways be available to give you valuable answer or advice.
