Halibut fishing in Homer is great May - September. Our day trips provide great fishing opportunities for people of all ages. We provide all of your fishing gear and fillet your fish. Freezing, vacuum packing and shipping is also available at the processing plant right across the street from our office. Halibut boats generally depart at 7 a.m. and return sometime in the afternoon. A fishing license for the day is $20. You might also want to buy a $10 derby ticket and have a chance to win big money. Halibut fishing is vigorous and great fun!

If you are interested in salmon fishing we have what you are looking for.
We troll for salmon most of the season, spring is a great time to get in some fishing for feeder kings, these are salmon that are just feeding in our area but will actually spawn in rivers elsewhere. Around the first of May we start catching the big spawning kings including the trophy Kenai River fish. In Homer we have the advantage of having all of the King Salmon runs in Cook Inlet come right by our doorstep. What this means to you is that we are fishing several runs of fish at one time increasing your chances of success. We catch big spawners right on into July with feeder kings also available the whole time.

In August we have several runs of the scrappy Silver Salmon in the area. The first three weeks of August generally have the best Silver Salmon fishing and have historically coincided with a strong showing of feeder kings. Good numbers of pink and sockeye salmon are also available at different times during the summer.

Most of our salmon fishing is done by trolling bait or lures near shore. We are usually in the protected waters of Kachemak Bay, a short distance from Homer. At times we use downriggers, other times we use trolling weights or divers, it depends on the depth of the fish, on occasion we mooch.

Also available are long range trips spending two or more days using one of our vessels as a mobile lodge fishing for halibut, salmon, rockfish, and lingcod. After about the 1st of August we can take a skiff along and bank fish some of the remote rivers with fly or spin tackle for Silver Salmon.

Our complete vacation packages are custom designed and can include lodging, sea kayaking, hiking, flight seeing, 4 wheeler trips into the back country, sight seeing, long range fishing trips, custom cruising and much more!

Notes:
Fishing licenses are available for one, three, seven, fourteen days. Price ranges from $20 to $80. King salmon tags are also available.
Combination trips for halibut/salmon are $280 with a minimum of 4.
Combination halibut/lingcod in July are $300 with a minimum of 4. All prices are plus 7.5% sales tax.
