The PADI IDC begins with independent self study and encompasses 2 PADI programmes. The Assistant Instructor Course (AI) and the Open Water Scuba Instructor Course (OWSI). The course takes 7 days in total.
The focus of these programs is on development and learning by making mistakes and being corrected. We learn best by making mistakes, then receiving the necessary feedback to help us improve. On successful completion of the PADI IDC you will receive confirmation from the Course Director, which will allow you to attend an Instructor Examination (IE). If you are already a PADI Assistant Instructor you need only complete the OWSI part of thePADI IDC. If you are already an Instructor with another diving organisation you can choose to complete the OWSI part of the IDC and crossover to a PADI Instructor. Requirements: - Be certified as a PADI Divemaster or hold a leadership level certification with another recreational diver training organisation. - Be at least 18 years of age. - Submit medical clearance for diving signed by a physician, this must be current within the last 12 months.
